Part 9 100 Days to Victory. The Le Hamel victory became the mould for the break-out from Amiens and the forerunner to the unbelievable 100 days march to victory - after four years of defensive defeats. The New Zealanders would cover themselves with glory in their triumphant march across the northern regions while the Australians would push east over the losing battlefields of 1916, with the Canadians at their side. The story of the Anzacs return home, soldier land settlement, the depression and then WW2 in which father and sons would be fighting side by side in yet another war in countries faraway. The film ends on a happy note showing the children, grand children and great grand children visiting the old battlefields of France and Belgium to show their respects to the finest group of brave men and women ever assembled. |
